The Price Is Right – Keys to Delivering Business Advisory Projects on Budget – March 2016 [2 Part Program]
16 March 2016@ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until 23 March 2016
Have you got into a business advisory project and suddenly realised it’s out of control? The time cost budget that you so carefully defined up front is being stretched as you try to manage the client and the work. The fixed fee that you’ve carefully negotiated with the client seems meaningless!
Scope Creep associated with business advisory work is an increasingly a challenge for accounting firms. Just some of the issues principals, partners and managers are facing include:
- The client who believes that they should get everything for the agreed fee
- Unanticipated delays in receiving information from the client
- Poorly scoped terms of engagement leading to unexpected work
- Difficulties in engaging with client in relation to agreed actions
In this 2 part program, we’ll provide a step by step process to overcome the business advisory scope and fee blowout. We’ll show you how to:
- Accurately calculate the fee associated with business advisory work
- Manage client expectations in relation to phone, email and meetings
- Present pricing options in a way that helps clients understand fee for service
- Confidently communicate what’s within and outside scope of work
- Get real client commitment by letting them choose the services they want
- Mentor and coach the client in the early days of a business advisory project
- Approach a client when scope of work exceeds the agreed terms of engagement
- Tackle the project when it’s really getting out of control
This program is suitable for any staff involved with business advisory projects, including partners, managers, accountants and administrators.
